He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Brinkley and Helen Brinkley (Pogozalis); his daughter Brenda K. Brinkley; and his sister Gerry Wike. He is survived by: his children, Jan Ieraci (Tony), Brian Brinkley, Lori Blakey (George) and Todd Brinkley (Jennifer); his partner's children, Kylee Schwent (Dennis) and Kara Jackson (Richard); and his brothers, John Brinkley (Vicky) and Dale Brinkley (Laura). He is also survived by grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ashtabula Disabled American Veterans (DAV), envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
