It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Jean Turnquist of Ashtabula, Ohio, who passed away on September 24, 2023, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Glen Laferty, and Christine Laferty, Sr. (Hayes); and her siblings, Joyce Ann Laferty, Sara Jane Laferty, William Laferty, Glen Laferty, Jr., Edward Lee "Gabby" Laferty, Deborah Dyson, Margie Custer and Blanche Corlew.
She is survived by: her husband Clarence Turnquist; her children, Erica Brill (Jack) of Ashtabula and Dwayne Turnquist (Shanon) of Ashtabula; her grandchildren, Alyssa McGaha, Tyler Ernst, Tyler Winchell, Alexis Cambra, Zachary Winchell, Brandon Carr, Brooklyn Turnquist and Jacob Turnquist; her great grandchildren, Madysen, Macey, Alinah and Athena; her siblings, Mary Kirby of Lebanon, Sue McGeary of Geneva and Richard Laferty of Ashtabula; her siblings-in-law, Daniel Custer, Donald Corlew and Mary Laferty; her niece Denise McTigue; and her close friend Ruth Parker of Texas.
