He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Richards and Margaret Richards (Schack); his former wife Shirley Richards (Spicker); his wife Carol Richards (Woodworth); his stepson Phil Gargantiel; his daughter-in-law Jeri Richards; and his siblings-in-law, Cindy Richards and Jay Lautanen.

He is survived by: his sons, George "Ed" Richards, Peter Richards (Debbie) and Howard Richards (Carol E.); his stepdaughters, Becky Kunkel (Steve) and Laura Stankus (Chris); his siblings, Allan Richards and Therese Lautanen; his grandchildren, Emily (Ryan), Julie (Ryan), Adam, Anne (Lee), James, Tim, Jeff, Elizabeth, Alyssa and Christopher; his great grandchildren, Jezreel, Mara, Gideon, Jonah, Peyton, Landen, Pierson, Owen, Rosalyn and Felicity; and his nieces and nephews, Zack (Becky), Kevin (Rachel), Paula (Tom), Marcia (Chas) and Michelle.
