He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam and Mary Pettway (Gooden); and his brothers, Sam Pettway, Jr. and James "Sonny" Goodwin. He is survived by: his wife Gloria Pettway (Benton); his daughters, Aundrea "Michelle" Hunt, Letitia Pettway, Cassandra "Sandy" Pettway, Tonya Pettway and Angela Solis (Juan); his grandchildren, Javonte R., Janea E., Jonah R. E. Lacy, Devin Williams, Jaijuan Solis, Aaron Thompson, Jada Calvin, Jacqlyn A., Jaidyn M. and Mycole R. M. Solís; his great grandchildren, Ja'Nelysse, Julieanah Lacy, Layla, Lexington, Lulani and Liona Lower; and his siblings, Virginia Grant (Joseph), Mattie Pettway, Roosevelt Pettway (Florence) and Willie Pettway (Kitty). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
