He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frank Gagliardi and Treesa Gagliardi (Guster); his wife Gina Gagliardi (Gregory); his sons, Nicholas Gagliardi (Myra) and Daryl Gagliardi; and his stepchildren, Joseph Fernandez (Heather), Amanda Fernandez and Lori Fernandez.

He was Past President of the Painesville Educational Foundation and the Painesville City Improvement Corporation.
