He was predeceased by: his parents, Philip "Tarbaby" Candela and Aune Candela (Lehto); and his niece Valerie Ann Petro. He is survived by: his sisters, Phyllis McElwain and Stephanie Petro. He is also survived by two nephews and a niece.
