He was predeceased by: his parents, Garnett W. McGlothlin and Monnie McGlothlin (Fletcher); and his siblings, Juanita, Alona, Mona Lee Smith and Donald McGlothlin.

He is survived by: his wife Diana; his children, Gary Jr. McGlothlin (Laura) and Shawnette McGlothlin-Duelley (Eric); his grandchildren, Makayla McGlothlin, Alexander Duelley, Whitney, Cooper and Allison McGlothlin; his brother Garnett "Butch" McGlothlin (Sherri); and his sister-in-law Dorothy McGlothlin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
