He was predeceased by: his children, Thomas Matz and Susan Jones; his granddaughter Jennifer Bullock; his siblings, Clyde Matz and Normalee; and his brother-in-law Paul Wilson.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Matz of Ashland; his children, Cheryl Briggs of Ashland, Robert Matz of Ashland and Richard Matz of Ashland; his sister Bertha Cranmore of Ashland; and his son-in-law Dan Jones of Hayesville. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Loudonville Church of the Nazarene, 509 North Union Street, Loudonville, Ohio 44842.
