He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee and Mary L. Oblisk; and his stepbrothers, Douglas and Larry Oblisk. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Thompson of Ashland; his daughters, April Thompson (Jim Neff) of Ashland, Renee Marker of Ashland, Angie Thompson of Ashland and Adrianna Thompson (Corey Enderby) of Ashland; his grandchildren, Emmie, Andrew, Markie, Amber, Josie, Mary Kate, Noah and Megan; and his stepsiblings, Nancy Lee Polk (Wayne) of Mobile and Robert N. Oblisk (Elona) of Adele, Georgia.. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
