He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry J. Petersen and Nancy Petersen (Harmon); his brother Greg Petersen; his grandson Logan Rhine; and his mother-in-law Carol Swartz.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Peterson (Swartz) of Ashland; his children, Trent E. Peterson of Shelby and Jodi L. Sands (Brian) of Shelby; his stepchildren, Chris Rhine (Chasta) of Ashland, Jeff Rhine (Missy) of Ashland and Matt Rhine (Tonya) of Rising Sun, IN; and his sister Cindy Petersen of Marion. He is also survived by ten step-grandchildren; a step-great-granddaughter.
