He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl A. and Avis M. Frey (Vanderpool); and his son Michael G. Frey. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Frey; his children, Robert E. Frey of Ashland and Nancy Patterson (Craig) of Ashland; and his daughter-in-law Heidi Frey Clay. He is also survived by six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Ashland County Cancer Association.
