He was predeceased by: his father Alfred Ahlers; his daughter Margaret Ahlers; and his brother Richard Ahlers. He is survived by: his wife Sally Ahlers of Ashland; his children, Ann Ahlers-Cole (Matt) of Ashland, Mark Ahlers (Darleane) of Indiana and Robert Ahlers (William Silveira) of California; his granddaughters, Sarah Goldsmith (Andrew) of Westerville and Elizabeth Slabodnick (Mark) of Illinois; and his great grandchildren, Sloane and Grier Goldsmith of Westerville.
