He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas A. Hickey and Helen V. Hickey. He is survived by: his wife MaryLou Hickey; and his children, Doug Hickey (Beth), Dan Hickey, Maureen Smith (Mark), Brian Hickey (Christine) and Brenda Kelly. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
