He was predeceased by: his parents, Harris Lyle and Ruth Eleanor Whitmer; and his daughter-in-law Arlene Whitmer. He is survived by: his wife Janet Whitmer of Ashland; his children, Todd Whitmer (Sarah Olenik) of Litchfield and Yvonne Kimball (Wade) of Delaware; and his grandson Nathaniel Whitmer of Lewis Center.
