He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Leroy and Delia Edith; his wife Caroline Denslow Shire; his son Leroy Allen Shire; his brother Ike Shire; and his stepbrother Bob Bennett.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Park Williams (Eddie) of Shallotte, NC and Johnny Creighton Shire (Cary) of Uhrichsville; his sister Karen Kirkpatrick of Ashland; and his stepsister Joyce Wells of Ashland. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
