We are sad to announce that on November 17, 2021, at the age of 89, Janet L. Hawley of Ashland, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Edwards and Dorothy Edwards (Stover); her husband Richard E. Hawley; her sons, Randall and Garry Moody; her siblings, Richard, John Edwards and Judy Gierhart; her stepson Dan Hawley; and her son-in-law Tom Toth.

She is survived by: her children, Barbara Pieklo (John) of Fernandina Beach, FL, Greg Moody (Jenny) of Greenwich, OH, Tammy Toth of Ames, IA and Lisa Hauenstein (Mike) of Ashland, OH; her stepdaughters, Marcia Shirk (Mark) of Omaha, NE and Jill Lance (Martin) of Columbus, OH; and her stepdaughter-in-law Melanie Hawley of Sullivan, OH. She is also survived by several grandchildren, step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 112 Harcourt Rd #3, Mt. Vernon, Ohio 43050.

“Sorry to hear of Janets passing. I'd never guess her to be 89, she was so active. I was just talking about her on Nov 16th. My aunt Fran Asire (90) asked about her and I told her she was still living and was shocked to see her obituary in the paper. Prayers for strength for her family right now.
