It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Dewey Smith of Ashland, Ohio, who passed away on October 10, 2022, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, George D. Smith and Mattie Smith (Grizzle); his children, Curtis Smith and Elizabeth Holsinger; his wife Ruth Sykes; his siblings, Evon Andrews, Opal Johnson and Carl Smith; his brother-in-law George Britton; and his son-in-law John Meyer (J. C.).
He is survived by: his children, Sue Meyer of Jeromesville, Barbara Michalovich (Michael) of Ashland, David Smith (Debbie) of Vero Beach, FL and Philip Smith of Orlando, FL.; his grandchildren, Michael Meyer, Damon Meyer (Jayne), Tiffany Meyer, Jody Rowe, Shane Ewbanks (Rachel), Alexandra Smith, Jessica Smith, Sunshine Imhoff (Jason) and Todd Holsinger (Holly); his sisters, Iris Britton of Kissimmee, FL and Helen Viers of Ormond Beach, FL; and his son-in-law Mark Holsinger.
