He was predeceased by: his father Earl Newell; his granddaughter Justina Loretta Hartsel; and his siblings, Carrolle Wiebe, Shirley Ule and Bill Newell.
He is survived by: his wife Monica Newell (Dombroski) of Ashland; his children, Mark Newell of Ukiah, CA, Michele Newell (Mary Boyer) of Mansfield, Marie Gordon (Rusty) of Polk, Lori Hartsel (Donovan) of Polk, Patrick Newell (Suzie) of Howard, OH and Lisa Perry of Sunbury, OH; and his brothers, Warren Newell of Ashville, NC. and Tim Newell (Pam) of San Antonio, TX.. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.
