Velma I. Gnagey Obituary
With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Velma I. Gnagey of Archbold, Ohio, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Velma left this world on February 9, 2025 at the age of 92, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Sauder and Wilma Sauder (Wyse); her husband Omar J. Gnagey; her son Doug Gnagey; her granddaughter Hannah Gnagey; and her siblings, Verna Sauder Miller, Lowell Sauder, Orval Sauder and Marland Sauder.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy G. Short (Jerry) of Tucson, Arizona, Les Gnagey (Nedra) of Goshen, Indiana, Marv Gnagey (Carol) of Port St and Gail Gnagey (Michelle) of Lewisburg, Ohio.; her grandchildren, Maria Gnagey Woelk (Sam), Kevin Gnagey, Aaron Gnagey (Rebecca), Brian Gnagey (Ashley), Lydia Gnagey McKinsey (Nathan), Elise Gnagey Striebich (Nathan) and Olivia Gnagey Callicoat (Joel); her great grandchildren, Kaylee, Josiah, Matthew, Eliana, Charlie, Kathryn, Gabe, Gemma, Emma, Samuel, Corrine, Bradyn and Killian; and her sister Mary Sauder Eash Evers.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Short Funeral Home (500 N Defiance St, Archbold, OH 43502). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, February 16th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Tedrow Mennonite Church (252 Windish St, Wauseon, OH 43567).
The family suggests that memorials be given to Tedrow Mennonite Church.
