He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Martinez and Petra Martinez (Carrasco); his wife Maria Olvera; his children, Michael Martinez and Rebecca Martinez; his son-in-law David Martinez; and his great grandchild Bianca Stanifer.
He is survived by: his children, Gloria Herrera (Andrez), John Martinez (Nancy) of Tedrow, Maria "Lulu" Martinez of Wauseon and Deanna "Dino" Martinez of Wauseon. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Parkinson Association or the benevolence of the family.
