He is survived by: his children, Rhonda Schmidt of Friendswood, TX, Valerie Smith of Greenville and Rob Schmidt of Arcanum; his grandchildren, Jodi Baker, Russell Travis Howe and Matthew Maitlen; his great grandchildren, Branson Landis and Cosima Benton; his brother Ted; and his sister-in-law Freida Schmidt. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
