He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Jasper R. Tyo and Louise Young Tyo; his wife Acelia Clark; his son Phillip Adkins of Wooster; his siblings, David Tyo (Kathy) of Apple Creek, Ricky Tyo (Shelley) of Wooster, Larry Tyo (Teresa) of Zanesville and Delilah Williamson (Roger) of New Lexington; his grandchildren, Corey, Cayla and Dartian; and his siblings, Emmitt Tyo and Rita Barnett. He was also cherished by four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
