He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Dye and Vida Mooser Dye; his wife Barbara McVey; his siblings, Donna Hidue, Elmer Dye Jr., Charlie Dye Gary Dye, Robert Dye, Tommy Dye, Ronald and Donald Dye; and his stepdaughters, Karen Fisher and Bonnie J. Billheimer.

He is survived by: his son Nevin C. Dye Jr. (Trisha Norman) of Orrville; and his stepchildren, Betina Miller of Wooster and Malinda Bruce of Wooster. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
