He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Copeland and Christine Copeland (Meyer); his wife Anna Louise Beaver; his siblings, Carol Cullson, Virginia Ailes and Harold Copeland; his stepmother Pearl Copeland; and his brother-in-law Larwance Cullson.
He is survived by: his children, John L. Copeland (Betty Bird) of Quincy, Tina M. Schaffer (Brian) of St. Paris, Donald P. Copeland of Anna and Alicia M. Smith of Anna; his grandchildren, Kyle Bird of Columbus, John Copeland II of Wapakoneta, Jasmine Bird of Sidney, Jenteal West of Troy and Tyler Phillips (Che-Lynn) of Sidney; his great grandchildren, Nathan Phillips of Sandy Hook, KY and Willow Phillips of Sidney; his sister Patricia Koons of Hemet, CA; his sisters-in-law, Diane Copeland of Sidney and Diana Copeland of Farmsville, NC; and his friend Valerie Burks of Crossville, TN. He is also survived by three nephews and many great nephew and nieces and great-great nieces and nephews.
