Violet Ruth Mitchell Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Violet Ruth Mitchell of Amherst, Ohio, born in Robbins, Tennessee, who passed away on March 22, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband James A.; her son James A. Jr.; her parents, John Moore and Mary Louise Moore; her grandson Matthew James Stevens; her son-in-law Kenneth Crawford; and her siblings, Arvil, Patrick, Harry, Marvin, Curtis, Ada, Clara, Cindy and Myrtle.
She is survived by: her daughters, Janet Crawford, Rita Milks (William) and Brenda Stevens (Robert); her grandchildren, Jason (MaryLynn), Justin (Amber), Jonathan, Tonya (Randy), Ritchie (Stacey), April, Brandon (Kimberley), Jimmy (Amanda), Michael (Samantha) and Crystal; and also Tony Mannon. She is also survived by 33 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, March 29th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Dicken Funeral Home & Cremation Service (323 Middle Ave, Elyria, OH 44035). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at the Ridge Hill Memorial Park (44805 N Ridge Rd, Amherst, OH 44001).
