We are sad to announce that on June 20, 2022, at the age of 93, Ted Childress of Amherst, Ohio, born in Grundy, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Edna Marie Childress; his son Jesse E. Childress; and his parents, Jesse Letcher and Toy Ellen Childress. He is survived by: his children, Sandra Kantelas of North Ridgeville, Russell T. Childress (June) of Amherst and Garry L. Childress (Diana) of Amherst; his daughter-in-law Janice Childress of Fredericksburg; his grandchildren, Adam Kantelas (Sodoo), Paul Kantelas (Mellisa), Jacob Childress (Jessica), Ashley Shover (Camoran), Jonathan Childress, Amy Childress, Allen Childress and Jessica Childress; his great grandchildren, Lily, Dahlia and Gideon; and his siblings, Lena Dohanyos of Lorain, Cecil Childress (Emma) of Vermilion, Roger Childress (Edgar) of Grundy, Virgil Childress (Theresa) of Salem and Linda Cook (Dorlis) of Abbington, Virginia..

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in lieu of flowers to North Lake Missionary Baptist Church, 323 North Lake Street, South Amherst, OH 44001.
