He was predeceased by: his grandson Dakota; his brother Robert V. Bailey; and his parents, Stanley Bailey and Anna Bailey (Grawe). He is survived by: his wife Harriett Hope Bailey (Owen); his children, Richard Jay, Matthew (Puerto Rico), Joan Lunsford (Gary) of Kennesaw, Georgia and Mark; and his grandchildren, Josie, Benjamin, Luke, Richard and Alexandrea.

Visitation was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (200 St Joseph Dr, Amherst, OH 44001). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.

In honor of Dick's longtime service to those in need, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Vincentian Ministry at St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
