It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Okey Bennett of Amherst, Ohio, born in Beckley, West Virginia, who passed away on July 12, 2021, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his grandson Bradlee L. Block; his sister Gloreda Lehman; and his parents, Woodrow Wilson and Myrtle Nell Bennett. He is survived by: his wife Gloria "Dawn" Bennett; his children, Pamela Block (Thomas) of Amherst and Duane Bennett (Kathrynn) of Amherst; his grandchildren, Breanta Dawn Gareau (David), Brittney Elizabeth Bennett and Austin Tyler Bennett; his great grandchild Taylor Leighann Gareau; and his brother Wilson Bennett of Burlington, KY. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital or the local American Red Cross.
