He was predeceased by: his sister Hilde Smith; and his parents, Steve Bado and Hildegard Bado. He is survived by: his wife Polly Ann Bado; his children, Brad Bado (Cindy) of Wellington, John Bado of Avon Lake, Michael Frazier of Knox, PA, Cheryl Brubaker (Tim) of Richmond, VA, Rhonda Cruz (Joel) of Oberlin, Dawn Walther (Jim) of Lorain and Tricia Chopcinski (David) of Avon Lake; and his grandchildren, Emily, Ashley, Cory, Shea, Kyle, Isabelle, Mark, Hayley, Matt, Zachary, Adam and Paige. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
