He was predeceased by: his parents, Viviano Gutierrez and Apolonia Gutierrez; and his siblings, Jesus, Ancelmo, Jose, Santiago Gutierrez and Lucy Shaw.

He is survived by: his wife Rosemary A. Gutierrez; his children, Joseph Gutierrez of Chicago, Michele O'Keefe (Terry) of Amherst, Karen Hullman (Mark) of Amherst and Kevin Gutierrez of Amherst; and his sisters, Erlinda Ridenour and Mary Simpson (Jon). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter.
