With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Werth (Amherst, Ohio), born in Butler, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 2, 2021 at the age of 74. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Paul and Gertrude Marie Werth (Gibson); his brother William; and his nephew Ian McClosky. He is survived by: his wife Mary Kay; his children, Marnie Werth-Waller (Mark) of Lorain and Ryan Werth of San Francisco, CA; his grandchildren, Hunter Waller and Sailor Waller; and his siblings, James Werth (Judy) of Lake Mary, FL, Robert Werth (Rita) of Las Vegas, NV, Thomas Werth (Debbie) of Butler, PA, Carol Greenberg (Michael) of Palm Desert, CA and Joyce Werth (John Gillis) of Modesto, CA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

“I’m so sorry for your loss. John was instrumental in getting me certified at the FAA. He was one of my trainers and was very good about teaching the correct way to control planes. He also would take me golfing at Oberlin and was always very kind to my family. I also worked with his brother John. He will be missed and wish I could have spent more time with him. Rest In Peace. Jim Welte Jr.”
