He was predeceased by: his mother Gaudy Brooks; his children, Tammy Patterson (Kenny) and Tab Brooks (Sissy); and his sibling Red Brooks. He is survived by: his spouse Almajane "A. J." Brooks; his grandchildren, Owen Curtis Brooks, Ashley Kirker and Clayton Allan Brooks; his great grandchildren, Connor Lee Mechlin, Quinton and Lamere Maxberry; his sisters, Sadie Wilson, Sylvia Acres and Syble Acres; and his brother-in-law Harold Acres.
