She was predeceased by: her children, Michelle D. Taylor, Melinda D. Atkins and Marc D. Atkins. She is survived by: her husband Jerry L. Abney; her siblings, Judy Francia (Bob) and David Russell; her close friend Denise Hart; and her grandchildren, Tiffany M. Stoner, Shon Taylor (Katelyn), Kara R Taylor, John N. Taylor Jr., Jason Taylor (Amanda) and Tayja Barger. She is also survived by 15 Great grandchildren; Janet will be missed by an aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins, her church family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to Ohio Pike Church of God P.O. Box 358 Amelia, OH 45102.
