It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Frank Auel Sr. of Amelia, Ohio, who passed away on November 6, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Thelma Auel; his daughter Barbara Baumgardt; his parents, Harry Auel and Anna Auel; and his siblings, Velma Browning, Fritz, Louis and Harry Auel Jr..

He is survived by: his children, Beverly Brown (Ed Crouch), Brenda Combs and James Auel Jr. (Dianna); and his siblings, Jean Casteltine and Joan Hofstetter. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, many great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
