He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer "Pug" and Pearl Muncy Fields; his brother Eddy Fields; his sister-in-law Mary Sox Fields; and his son-in-law Steve Roat.
He is survived by: his wife Betty "Gail" Arnett Fields; his children, Edie Roat, Ed Fields and Sharon Moss (Wayne); his grandchildren, Matthew Moss (Megan) and Stephanie Combs (Caleb); his great grandchild Samuel Moss; and his siblings, Margaret Ann Tucker, Tommy Dale Fields and Gary Lee Fields (Mary). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
