He was predeceased by: his parents, James Howell and Evelyn Howell (Finlaw); his wife Susan Howell (Paxton); and his siblings, James Howell, Johan Blair and Winnie Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Larry D. Howell II of Amanda, John W. Howell of Stoutsville and Marsha Garrett of Amanda; his grandchildren, Heather Morningstar (Brandon Wiggins), J. D. Howell and Sarah Howell; and his great grandchild Declan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
