He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Brooks and Avis Brooks (Trish); his wife Laura A. Brooks (Haynes); his grandson Christian Berry; his son-in-law Ray Berry; his sisters, Mary Elizabeth and Delores "Dee" Keoshian; and his brother-in-law Richard Hodnick.
He is survived by: his children, Kelli Berry of Alliance and Samuel Brooks, II of Alliance; his grandchildren, Mackenzie Berry, Jadyn Brooks and Brooke Moore (Brian); his great grandchildren, Brayden and Brylee Moore; and his sisters, Geraldine Brooks of Alliance, Shirley Brooks of Alliance, Kathy Davidson of Alliance and Patricia Hodnick of Massillon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
