He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Leo and Violet Betz (Sell); his son Sgt. Dennis Betz; and his siblings, Charles Betz, Dorothy, Ruby, Marge and Harriet.
He is survived by: his wife Judith Betz (Betts); his children, Charles A. Betz (Heather), Tammy Betz and Wendy Smith (Richard); and his grandchildren, Kara Zorich (Matt), Allan Betz, Ashley Betz, Dylanni Smith and Makenzie Szczepaniak (Anthony). He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
