He was predeceased by: his parent Walter Baumgaertel; his former wife Alice Stoffel Baumgaertel; his daughter Charlotte Stegmann; and his brother Karl. He is survived by: his parent Anna Neander Baumgaertel; his wife Evelyn Ay Baumgaertel; his children, Anna Baumgaertel of Cynwyd, Roland Baumgaertel of Gloucester, Friedrich Baumgaertel of Koblenz, Cornelia Babbitt of Chicago, Walter Baumgartel of Albany, Christian Baumgaertel of Boseckendorf, Dieter Baumgaertel of Gloucester, Rudiger Baumgaertel of Albany, Kristina Elkins of Virginia Beach and Martin Baumgaertel of Albany; his siblings, Bernd Baumgaertel of Vancouver and Gunhild McMillan of Goleta; and also British Columbia. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
