He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wesley and Helen Gertrude Markins Conaway; his wife Marilyn Jean Gatton Conaway; and his sisters, Jonnetta Craig and Anna Mae.
He is survived by: his daughters, Melynda Powers (Darrin) of Rocky Point, NC and Mindy Jackson (Michael) of Albany. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
