He is survived by: his wife Marcia McAfee Van Nest; his children, Teri Chesser of Athens, Mike Van Nest (Melissa) of Athens and Rob Spaulding (Candi) of Albany; his grandchildren, Courtney Van Nest, Morgan Spaulding, Krista Van Nest (William Ferguson), Marcus Spaulding, Kira Chesser and A. J. Van Nest; and his great grandchildren, Raeleigh Van Nest and Memphis Van Nest. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
