He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Rake and Mabel Rake; his wife Joyce; and his siblings, Eleanor, Ruth and James.

He is survived by: his daughter Cathy Rake of The Villages; his sister-in-law Jackie Suchy (Howard); his nephews, Michael Carmany, Jimm Etters (Linda) and Jef Etters; and his niece Janine Lovin (Russ). He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
