He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerry Simms and Olga Simms; his son Stevie; and his siblings, Sharon, Candace and Gary.

He is survived by: his wife Judy (Riedl); his daughters, Sherry Simms (Rob) and Mindy Simms (Matt); his grandchildren, Arianna and Aaron Harr; his brother Jerry; and his sister-in-law Susie Simms.
