He was predeceased by: his parents, Petuce Averiett (Paul) and Lucy Averiett; and his siblings, Edwin O'Neal Cain Sr. (William Cain Jr.), Janet Averiett, Vera Hollingsworth and Lucille Cain.

He is survived by: his children, Robert Gladney, Kedrin Rodgers, Marquis Rodgers and Mary Gladney (Carol Spruill). He is also survived by grandchildren and greatgrandchildren other relatives and friends.
