He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Dean and Walleta Dean; his siblings, Brenda Moore and Robert Dean; his parents-in-law, Elda Hughes and Walter Hughes; and his brother-in-law Tom Hanks.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Dean; his stepson Jeff Black (Cindy); his grandsons, Matt (Brittany) and Josh Black (Kristen); his sister-in-law Linda Hanks; and his nephew Joey Moore (Amanda).
