It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merle J Gerber of Akron, Ohio, born in Rew, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 22, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Merle departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Merle. Though Merle may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Hilliman and Mabel Hilliman; and her daughter Debbi Gerber. She is survived by: her children, Mike Gerber, Laurie Gerber and Janelle Miller; her granddaughters, Madyson and Maliya Miller; and her sister Erla Truby. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 26th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Donovan Funeral Home - Tallmadge (17 Southwest Ave, Tallmadge, OH 44278). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church (1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223).
