With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marlene Margaret Garrett of Akron, Ohio, born in Hamilton, Ohio, who passed away on December 8, 2024 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let her loved ones carry forward the torch of her memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of her love and the brilliance of her spirit. Though Marlene may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, her essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Long and Ida Long; her husband Vernon; and her son Gregory. She is survived by: her children, Todd, Brian and Michelle; and her granddaughter Paige. She is also survived by 12 other grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (100 E Waterloo Rd, Akron, OH 44319).
