He was predeceased by: his parents, Mack Cleveland Lathion and Rutha Mae McCrary; his sister Bessie Mae Young; his son Mack Cleveland Lathion, III; and his nephew Thomas Lee Allison.
He is survived by: his son Guy Lathion (Mellisa); his siblings, Florine McCrary (Ray), Robert McCrary (Marezella), Dorothy Hyde (Woody), Cynthia Sparks (Ed), Maxine Marshall, Carol Taylor, Patricia Lathion, Marsha Lathion, Shelia Lathion and Barbara Smith (Frank); his niece Mariah Campbell (Fred); and his great-nieces, R'ajja and Saisha Turpin-Allison. He is also survived by great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
