She was predeceased by: her parent L. H. Taylor; her sister Joyce Walker; and her stepfather Percy Wilson. She is survived by: her mother Mary Lee Wilson of Akron; her husband Kirkwood S. Cottman; her children, Kendra Elaine, Karin Lin and Kirkwood Kermit; and her siblings, Larry Taylor (Deloris) of Chicago, Illinois, Laura Motley of California and June Sands of Kansas City, Missouri. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, in honor of Linda, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Wesley Temple AME Zion Church Media Ministry, which she was a part of and so passionately loved. Donations can be made.
