He was predeceased by: his grandson Dalton Szurek; and his siblings, Millie Durbin (Mike), Donald, Frank and Bobby Phillips.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph Phillips Sr. (Heather) and Bridgette Szurek; his grandchildren, Ashleigh and Joseph Jr.; and his siblings, Viola Legge (Bob), Nina Hatch, Roberta Miller (Steve), Ginny Tomeko (Lenny), Olson Phillips (Colleen) and Homer Phillips (Phyllis). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
